Community Gardens Internship
The Community Gardens program is seeking a highly-motivated and energetic intern to assist staff and community members with garden maintenance and community engagement at Missoula’s 12 community gardens. This internship offers candidates experience working at a multi-faceted community nonprofit, allowing them to gain practical experience in the workplace, in Missoula’s local food system, and in growing food.
Hours: 10 - 20 hours per week, April - June 2025, totaling around 200 hours; scheduling is flexible Monday through Friday between 8 am and 5 pm; occasional evening or weekend work.
Benefits: $1,000 stipend; equivalent of a small CSA share of fresh veggies in season while working; academic credit available to students.

Community agriculture assistant
🌱 Farm to School: Help elementary students connect with their food and where it comes from. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team leading hands-on lessons in school gardens, guiding field trips where kids literally eat their way across the farm, and assisting with summer camps. Expect plenty of digging, planting, and teaching—this is learning by doing at its best!
🚛 Mobile Market: Think of it as a pop-up farmers' market on wheels! You’ll bring fresh, local produce straight to seniors in affordable housing, giving folks who are often home-bound a direct connection to their food and the farmers who grow it. It’s meaningful, rewarding, and a great way to build community.

Hours: This is a full-time 900 hour position. Term dates are May- November 2025. Members are expected to serve 40 hours/week. Typical working times
are Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
