LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE

About

Leadership Committees work a bit like a mini board of directors for each of our community gardens. Committee members are community gardeners who also help organize garden workdays and events, act as a resource for their fellow gardeners, and help ensure their garden site stays a happy and productive place for all who visit it.

Garden leaders help cultivate the community in community gardening and work closely with Garden City Harvest’s community garden staff. Whether you’re a working professional or retiree, this is an engaging, meaningful, and hands-on volunteer opportunity. It’s also a great resume builder!

Interested in Doing more? Great!

Garden City Harvest depends on leadership committee members, and for that reason covers the garden plot fee for each committee member. We are always looking for more potential leadership committee members. Contact us for more information.

What people are saying…

“Connecting over gardening and life with fellow gardeners throughout the summer [has been the most enjoyable part]. I think that being on the leadership committee made me more willing and comfortable to introduce myself and get to know fellow gardeners. It was fun to watch everything grow--friendships and plants alike.” - Leadership Committee Member

“I have learned so much from the 2nd Street gardening community. The most enjoyable part was walking into the garden, and seeing almost every plot flourishing!” - Leadership Committee Member

“Keep up the good work! Our [garden leader] was amazing. We love her!” - Meadow Hill Gardener
